Four Firm Attorneys Honored on List of “Texas Rising Stars”

The firm’s Rebecca Adams, Greg Brassfield, Pat Disbennett, and Barira Munshi have been recognized among the top young attorneys in the state as Texas Rising Stars for 2023.

Honorees are selected by Thomson Reuters’ legal division to recognize outstanding lawyers under the age of 40 and those who have been practicing law for no more than 10 years. The firm’s four business litigators were selected based on nominations from other lawyers across the state and an extensive review by the publication’s editors.

Ms. Adams represents a diverse list of clients in complex civil and business litigation matters including breach of contract, business torts, trade secret and non-compete disputes, trademark infringement, professional liability defense, and negligence claims. She graduated with merit from the United States Naval Academy and served five years on active duty before transitioning into the Navy Reserve and earning her law degree from Stanford Law School.

Mr. Brassfield’s practice encompasses commercial litigation and cross-border issues, including business partnership disputes, breaches of contract, theft of trade secrets, as well as breaches of fiduciary duty and fraud. Recognized for the fourth consecutive year as a Rising Star, he routinely appears in federal and state courts on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants in all phases of complex and “bet-the-business” commercial litigation. He earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law, where he was also a Garner Law Scholar.

Appearing on the list for the fifth year, Mr. Disbennett has compiled a successful record representing clients in an array of commercial litigation disputes, including breach of contract, trade secrets, commercial real estate, and oil and gas. He’s secured successful results in cases involving claims of breach of contract, non-competition agreements, trade secret misappropriation, business disparagement and defamation claims. Prior to a clerkship with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, he graduated with honors from Northwestern University School of Law.

Ms. Munshi has litigated a broad range of complex commercial disputes, including matters involving intellectual property, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, antitrust, class action, fraudulent transfer claims, and real estate. Prior to joining the firm she served as a law clerk in the Eastern District of Texas, where she supported 13 jury trials. A certified Texas Family Mediator, she earned her law degree with honors from the University of Houston Law Center.
