Jessie Cox

Jessica is a senior associate and trial lawyer who has successfully litigated several multi-million-dollar disputes from pre-litigation to verdict to appeal. Jessica is known for her sharp edge and strategic instincts, tenacity in the courtroom, and creativity in engineering solutions to complex legal issues.

Though early in her career, Jessica has already built a reputation for winning hard fights and out-strategizing her often seasoned opponents. Recent wins include:

  • Bench trial involving trademark claims and breach of contract for the largest optical retailer in the United States
  • Jury trial and award of $250,000 in punitive damages in landlord-tenant dispute for fraud and breach of contract
  • Removal of an injunction imposed against group of physicians under Texas Covenants Not to Compete Act
  • Summary judgment in option rights contract dispute against an international energy corporation
  • Prevailing against motion to dismiss in favor of SBA lender in high-stakes PPP loan fraud dispute

She regularly appears in federal and state courts across Texas, representing clients in a wide variety of general business and complex commercial disputes, with an emphasis on claims involving intellectual property.

Jessica graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science from Baylor University and went on to receive her J.D. from Baylor Law in 2021, graduating cum laude with a Special Distinction in Litigation. While at Baylor Law, Jessica competed in—and won—several of the nation’s most competitive national and regional moot court and mock trial competitions. She was also named top advocate of her law school class, earning the prestigious “Mad Dog” award.

Prior to joining LPHS, Jessica clerked for The Honorable Amos L. Mazzant, Chief Judge for the Eastern District of Texas, and interned for The Honorable Christine Nowak, Former Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Texas. She also practiced at Hedrick Kring Bailey PLLC in Dallas.

Jessica is currently an Adjunct Professor at Baylor Law School where she serves as a coach for Baylor Law’s mock trial students. Outside of the office, Jessica and her husband, Blake, enjoy avidly cheering on the Dallas Stars (Go Stars!), collecting vinyls, and hanging out with their pup, Bella, and cats, Roxy and Otter.
