2023 Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet Scholars Announced

Lynn Pinker Hurst & Schwegmann granted the 2023 Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet Scholarship to two high school seniors, Reed Smith and Brooke Sanchez. The Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet was established in 1978 with a mission to prepare students for careers in law, government, and law enforcement. Recipients must plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at a four-year college or university for the upcoming academic year, have a minimum grade point average of 3.3, and demonstrate outstanding leadership potential and an intent to pursue a career in the legal field.

Campbell Sode Secures Highest Score on 2023 Texas Bar Exam

LPHS attorney Campbell Sode recently secured his Texas law license with a score of 350 on the Texas Bar exam. Campbell, who joined LPHS in November of 2022, balanced bar preparation and work with diligence and determination. We are proud to have such hard-working, talented attorneys on our team. Firm Secures Important Win for Insurer in Business Interruption Case

The LPHS team of Eric Pinker, Rebecca Adams, and Holly Stubbs, along with co-counsel, recently secured an important and decisive defense win for prominent property insurer FM Global in federal court in the Eastern District of Texas. Cinemark USA, the nation’s third-largest chain of movie theaters, was seeking $1 billion in property damage insurance coverage under its policy, alleging that COVID-19 caused physical loss and damages to its theaters. The Court granted full summary judgment in favor of FM Global, dismissed all of Cinemark’s claims with prejudice, and issued final judgment in favor of the insurer.
