Victorious Jury Ruling Returned for Breach of Contract Dispute
Broadview Networks Ordered to Pay Damages
A New York based company, Broadview Networks has been found to have breached a series of contracts with HQ Global Workplaces related to more than 20 business centers located throughout the country. HQ Global Workplaces was represented by Eric W. Pinker and Elizabeth McElroy of Lynn Tillotson Pinker & Cox, LLP.
The contracts related to the provision of telecommunications services at more than 20 of HQ's business centers. Despite canceling those contracts as part of a company decision to transition to direct telecommunication providers, Broadview and its subsidiaries continued issuing numerous invoices, claiming the cancellations were defective. Following a one week trial, the jury returned a verdict in favor of HQ on its breach of contract claims and further awarded HQ its attorneys' fees.
"The case was complicated by the sheer number of business centers, accounts, cancellations, and invoices at issue,” stated partner Eric Pinker. "We are delighted the jury worked through the issues and returned a verdict in favor of HQ Global Workplaces.”
