U.S. Supreme Court Makes Decision on Illegal Immigrants

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that illegal immigrants deported and re-entering the country are not entitled to bond hearings. LPHS appellate partner David Coale discusses the case and if this ruling impacts the Biden Administration’s immigration policy.

“This issue is something that kind of stands on its own. It’s important to these people, it’s important to this part of the immigration statutes, but it doesn’t really set a precedent that applies more broadly throughout the system. It’s just the kind of difficult issue that comes up every few years because our immigration laws are so complicated, they just have to be. We are a big country, and a lot of people want to come here.”
