In announcing the list the publication notes that energy may be the hottest practice area in the legal profession, and this year’s group represents attorneys skilled in a range of matters, from sustainable finance and oil company M&A to contentious and high-profile energy-related disputes.

Each LPHS honoree has achieved historic success in representing energy clients in the courtroom, with Mike securing a $940 million verdict on behalf of Energy Transfer Partners and a $145 million verdict on behalf of T. Boone Pickens and his company Mesa in Reeves County, Michael obtaining a $45 million judgment for an energy investment firm in a case involving breach of fiduciary duty and fraud in the formation of an oil and gas partnership, and Jonathan in successfully defending a major privately-held energy company against claims seeking an interest in years of proceeds stemming from a West Texas oil and gas deal. They continue to actively represent other plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes energy litigation.
