The firm’s David Coale wanted to determine if ChatGPT competitor Claude could effectively process and analyze lengthy legal briefs, as touted by its creators. David chose to upload the competing briefs from Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health, the 2022 case that overruled Roe v. Wade. While finding that the technology requires certain guardrails, David came away impressed by the “surprisingly high quality of the results (which) has significant implications for the review of complex legal documents.”
