Michael K. Hurst and Chisara Ezie-Boncoeur Share Deposition Tips and Tricks

LPCH partner Michael K. Hurst and attorney Chisara Ezie-Boncoeur presented at The Belo Mansion as a part of the Dallas Bar Association’s 2019 Trial Academy. The presentation entitled, Prepping Clients and Non-Clients and Defending the Deposition, provided Trial Academy attendees tips and tricks to improve their deposition techniques.

Chisara points out, "If it’s noon in a deposition and you’re asked to state what time it is, the correct answer is: it’s noon. Don’t respond by telling the time, in addition to describing how a clock is made. A party being deposed should provide a truthful and direct response to the specific question posed. Often, that might be a simple yes, no, or I don’t recall."
