LPHS Team Produces $10 Million Verdict Against Grocery Store Ownership

A trial team led by LPHS partner Michael K. Hurst has secured a $10 million verdict against the shipping arm of the El Rancho Supermercado chain, with the Dallas County jury finding the grocer’s corporate ownership breached contracts and agreements with its longtime transportation vendor, Skyward Transportation. “Skyward’s performance and commitment was exceptional, but El Rancho’s new owners chose to falsify records and fabricate complaints in an effort to justify breaching the contracts. We’re pleased the jury carefully considered the evidence and returned a verdict in favor of Skyward,” says Michael.

Other LPHS attorneys representing Skyward included Jared EisenbergDavid CoaleJamie Drillette, and Andy Kim.
