LPHS Secures Another Win in Short-Term Rental Dispute

The Dallas Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld a district court’s injunction preventing the City of Dallas from enforcing a ban on short-term rentals in areas zoned for single families. A LPHS legal team led by Michael K. Hurst and David Coale has successfully represented the Dallas Short-Term Rental Alliance in blocking the city’s ordinance at each stage of the dispute, and David told Fox4 the city’s ordinance is too sweeping and would have "a big impact on a lot of people that just doesn’t match up with the evidence that they have in this record about the problems."  The appellate court’s ruling was also featured in The Dallas Morning News, D Magazine, WFAA, and Law360. The city can now challenge that ruling before the Texas Supreme Court.
