David Coale Speaks to Dallas Media on the Next Supreme Court Nominee
President Trump moved quickly to find a nominee to be the next Supreme Court judge after the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. LPHS appellate partner David Coale provided perspective on the president’s list of nominees to KLIF morning radio and also discussed President Trump’s nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to WFAA ABC Dallas and KLIF Radio.
“She is extremely qualified. She clerked for Justice Scalia as a young lawyer out of school, taught for many, many years at the Notre Dame law school and just finished her third year serving on the Seventh Circuit, which is the second highest level of federal court that was appointed by President Trump and been there three or four years. Potentially she has the ability if she joins with the other conservatives on the Supreme Court now to take a somewhat shaky 5-4 majority and turn it into a very solid 6-3 majority.”
