The seditious conspiracy trial involving seven Oath Keepers and its founder, Granbury’s Stewart Rhodes, started with jury selection after defense attorneys tried to move the case out of the nation's capital. Rhodes and his group members face federal charges that they conspired to orchestrate the Jan.6 riot. LPHS constitutional law attorney David Coale explains why this is a high-stakes trial: “The government believes there was leadership, it was organized, and this is the trial where they are going to put all that on the table. They can either prove it or they can’t.”
