David Coale Discusses Recent Supreme Court Rulings on Obamacare, Religious Rights

The U.S. Supreme Court tackled two high-profile cases involving Obamacare and a Philadelphia-based Catholic organization that did not allow same-sex couples from becoming foster parents. In a unanimous vote, the court ruled in favor of the Catholic organization. In the challenge over Obamacare, the justices ruled 7-2 to dismiss the challenge to the law.

In two recent media interviews, LPHS appellate and constitutional law attorney David Coale explains, "Even though it doesn’t go to Obamacare constitutionality or Affordable Care Act constitutionality, when the court rules on standing it’s drawing lines between what can the executive do, what can Congress do, what can the courts do and those are very important."
