The City of Austin has passed a resolution as part of the Grace Act, preventing police and fire departments from enforcing abortion bans. LPHS appellate and constitutional law attorney David Coale says the recent action by Austin leaders may help minimize the effect of Texas abortion laws. “It can define things, it can set priorities, it can perhaps immunize people from some of the worst to most dangerous consequences of these laws, and they are trying to push the envelope.”
