Chris Schwegmann Represents Eli Lilly in Whistleblower Lawsuit

LPCH partner, Chris Schwegmann represents Eli Lilly and Co. in a whistleblower lawsuit alleging they conspired to offer kickbacks to boost prescriptions of insulin and osteoporosis drugs. A Texas federal judge gave Eli Lilly and four healthcare companies a reprieve on Friday finding the allegations too vague. Health Choice Alliance has 20 days to file a new complaint.

"The magistrate judge's report found that there was no statistical certainty the companies submitted false claims to the government and no allegations of specific incidents in which one of the drugs was prescribed as a result of the alleged schemes. Although the suit was able to allege the nurses had access to the doctors, there's no connection linking prescribers to false claims, Judge Craven found."
