After Attorney General Ken Paxton's court appearance regarding state securities fraud charges, LPHS attorney David Coale teamed up with CBS reporter Jack Fink to provide an analysis of the possible reasons behind Paxton's team's decision to propose a settlement with the whistleblowers.

"This business about whistleblowers and settling litigation is newer and that carries over into the current term," said Coale about the positioning by the defense. "You can guys can consider that if you want to. But everything the voters dealt with that's history, and it's something that ought not be taken up by the Senate."

Paxton's impeachment trial in the Texas Senate is set to begin on September 5.
