Appellate Partner David Coale Provided Insight into Court Hearings on Mask Mandates

A Dallas County judge has recently ruled on the debate regarding the Texas mask mandate ban and the challenge by Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, ruling in his favor and allowing the county to reinstate the mask mandate. Prior to the ruling, a hearing took place where both sides presented their arguments, including a parent with an immunocompromised student. LPHS partner David Coale provided perspective to KDFW FOX 4.

“If anything, the public health case for a massive mandate has gotten stronger," Coale said. "The question here is once the judge has made her findings of fact, tied them into her view of the law, what's going to happen on appeal with the purely legal issue?"
