A federal judge has blocked a mask mandate for public transportation calling it “unlawful” and questioned the CDC’s mask extension to May 3. Following the ruling, the Transportation Security Administration and airlines released statements saying masks are now optional for travel. LPHS’ David Coale told KTVT CBS 11 Dallas the Justice Department and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention could appeal the ruling. “Even if they decided to appeal and appeal aggressively, they're going to have to acknowledge the existence of this order for the period of time it takes for an appeal.”
