Kristopher Ruiz
Associate
Kristopher Ruiz is an Associate at LPHS where he represents clients in a variety of general business and complex commercial disputes. He brings a deep background in federal litigation and trial advocacy to his practice.
Before joining the firm, Kristopher served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Irma Carrillo Ramirez of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and to the Honorable Amos L. Mazzant, III of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. In these roles, he assisted with drafting judicial opinions, managing complex dockets, and observing various cases both at the trial and appellate level. Kristopher also previously worked in the litigation and intellectual property practice groups at Cole Schotz, P.C.
Kristopher earned his J.D., cum laude, from Baylor Law School, where he received a special distinction in litigation, served as a Notes & Comments Editor for the Baylor Law Review, and held leadership positions in several student organizations including the Hispanic American Law Student Association. During his time at Baylor Law, Kristopher was an active participant in both mock trial and moot court, which provided him the opportunity to present arguments before the Texas Supreme Court, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, and the Texas Third Court of Appeals.
In addition to his practice, Kristopher serves as an adjunct professor at Baylor Law School, where he coaches mock trial teams and mentors students preparing for competition. In his spare time, Kristopher enjoys watching newly released movies in theaters and rooting for the Baylor Bears.
