Working with Dallas’ Human Rights Initiative, LPHS represents a young married couple who became leaders in their home community for a prominent opposition party in Venezuela. After receiving threats of violence, and then being attacked by government-affiliated forces, the couple set off for the U.S. in search of political asylum. LPHS filed an application for asylum on their behalf, which is pending.
