#15 Verdict in the Nation

We are pleased to be included in The National Law Journal’s Top 100 Verdicts 2015 for L.W. Hunt Resources et al. v. Thunderbird Oil & Gas et. al. Our clients, L.W. Hunt Resources and Richard Raughton, pursued claims for breach of fiduciary duty and fraud regarding an oil and gas business relationship, showing defendants self-dealt, cut their partners out of a deal, and stole the opportunity for themselves.

Hurst, Childers and Carroll led a 3 1/2-week jury trial that resulted in a joint $93,807,651 verdict for their clients (the intervenor-plaintiffs) and also the plaintiffs. The verdict is ranked number 15 in the nation according to The National Law Journal.
