LPCH is proud to announce that the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program (DVAP) awarded Michael K. Hurst for the creation and expansion of the Justice Forever Fund at The Pro Bono Awards on Tuesday, September 24^th at the Belo Mansion. The Justice Forever Fund is responsible for ensuring and expanding legal services to the underprivileged in perpetuity. Individuals supporting the fund are Lauren Leahy, Kate Morris, Dan Kelly, Nate Christensen, Michelle Alden, Judge Royal Furgeson, Alicia Hernandez, Tom Leatherbury, Rachel Meyer, Abby Gregory, Shelly Slater, Margaret Spellings and others.

Established in 1997, DVAP supports volunteer attorneys to deliver free, civil legal help to the disadvantaged in the Dallas area. The DVAP works with the Dallas Bar Association and Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas to assist volunteer attorneys in a variety of cases.
