Hurst represent short-term rental operators in an ongoing legal fight against a proposed City of Dallas ordinance that would drastically limit such rentals in single-family neighborhoods. At a recent hearing before the Dallas Fifth Court of Appeals, Coale said the ordinance violates homeowner rights under state law, and that the majority of Airbnb, VRBO and similar services would be shut down if the ordinance is allowed to go into effect.
