Attorneys for former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger have filed an appeal of her murder conviction for the 2018 killing of Botham Jean, hoping to overturn the jury verdict for the shooting of Jean in his apartment. LPHS appellate attorney David Coale explains the appeal to KDFW FOX 4.

“The appellate process is like a referee reviewing things on the field. It’s another set that comes in and looks, and the argument is there is all this evidence the jury considered -- but the verdict they returned is just out of bounds.”
