On October 22, LPCH attorney, Jervonne Newsome, was sworn in as Corresponding Secretary for the JL Turner Legal Association at the Annual Scholarships and Awards Gala. The event also celebrated the 65th anniversary of the JL Turner Legal Association. District Attorney, Faith Johnson, conducted the ceremony and welcomed Jervonne into her new role.

As Corresponding Secretary, Jervonne is responsible for maintaining all JL Turner Legal Association communications and announcements both internally and externally. Jervonne is also responsible for presenting the public voice of the organization and receiving correspondence and materials on its behalf.
