Jervonne Newsome recently presented at the ABA TIPS 2019 Emerging Issues in Motor Vehicle Product Liability Litigation Conference in San Diego where she provided insight and advice on effective tools of cross-examination in product liability matters. Co-presenting with Jervonne was Stephen Lowry of Harris Lowry Manton LLP. Drawing from her experience in the courtroom, Jervonne emphasized the importance of using cross-examination from the perspective of the defense with tips such as using the “reverse reptilian” approach with plaintiff’s witnesses and experts and telling your own story as the defendant, rather than trying to change the plaintiff's story.
