Hurst’s Headnotes Article Examines a New World of Fiduciary Relationships

Modern business practices are pushing the boundaries of fiduciary relationships far beyond traditional corporate structures, and the firm’s Michael K. Hurst has co-authored an article in the November 2024 issue of the Dallas Bar Association’s Headnotes on this evolving landscape.

“Texas courts are increasingly becoming battlegrounds where the existence and implications of these duties are contested. Key areas of expansion include informal fiduciary relationships and vendor relationships, as well as employment relationships now that its clear employees can owe a fiduciary duty to their employer even when they do not have a non-compete or non-solicitation agreement.”
