The U.S. Supreme has yet to decide on Texas Senate Bill 8, and LPHS appellate partner David Coale provides insight into why the high court has not made a ruling.

“This court moved very quickly to set the Texas case, the SB 8 case, for argument. Now a few weeks have gone by, and we are entering Thanksgiving, we don’t have a decision. It may be that whatever was driving them to treat it as an emergency has kind of fizzled out in their thinking. Or it may be that they are trying to put a package deal with the Mississippi abortion case that is going to be argued next week.”
