LPHS attorney David Coale was interviewed by CBS11 for reaction to the announced settlement of a whistleblower lawsuit against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton brought by four former top officials in the AG’s office. Those attorneys went to the FBI in the fall of 2020 with allegations of bribery and abuse of office against Paxton. "This involves whistleblower allegations at the upper echelons of Texas state government. These are the people, the closest advisors the State Attorney General had," says Coale. “If spending $3.3 million is in fact a savings of money, that suggests he (Paxton) was thinking there was going to be a long period in court or a larger payout that would ultimately be due.”
