Chris Schwegmann Elected to American Board of Trial Advocates

Jul 30, 2026

LPHS managing partner Chris Schwegmann has been elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates, an exclusive group of the nation’s leading trial lawyers and judges.

ABOTA membership is by invitation only and members must have tried at least seven civil jury trials to a conclusion and must also exhibit a history of civility, integrity, and professionalism. The organization’s membership consists of more than 7,300 lawyers—equally balanced between plaintiff and defense—and judges spread among 94 chapters in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

During his more than 20-year legal career Chris has become recognized as one of the go-to trial lawyers in Texas for business disputes, with an emphasis on claims involving intellectual property. Most recently, Chris led an LPHS trial team in securing a jury verdict of more than $17.5 million in a trade secrets and breach-of-contract case in the Eastern District of Texas.

He is consistently recognized for his skills in business litigation by legal guides and publications that include Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, Texas Super Lawyers, Lawdragon, D CEO, and D Magazine, and is a leading proponent of the responsible use of artificial intelligence tools by attorneys.
