Published in the American Bar Association’s Litigation journal, an article by LPHS partner Holly Stubbs argues that generative AI will transform, not replace, the human judgment of attorneys and the foundations of legal practice. 

In “Robots Will Not Replace Us” she urges legal professionals to understand the benefits and limitations of AI, warning that AI can hallucinate, reflect historical biases, and lacks human judgment, empathy, creativity, and moral reasoning. However, AI tools can improve efficiencies and enhance analysis for the legal profession, while requiring lawyers to carefully review AI-generated work and maintain ethical oversight.
