8th Circuit Judicial Conference 2016

Lynn Pinker Cox & Hurst associate Jervonne Newsome recently attended the 8th Circuit Judicial Conference in Rogers, Arkansas, to discuss clerking and collaborative models for creating inclusive opportunities. Newsome, joined by Honorable D. Price Marshall Jr., Honorable Lavenski Smith, Niki Cung, and Honorable Rebecca Goodgame Ebinger, offered solutions to issues of race and gender inequality within the legal sphere. Sharing insights on the application and hiring processes to clerical positions, Newsome answered questions about hiring criteria, how to encourage women of color to apply, and how law firms can better foster diverse recruitment. Newsome also addressed the importance of clerking as the foundation for a judicial career and clerks’ impact on the quality of justice in the 8th Circuit. LPCH congratulates Newsome and proudly celebrates her dedication to bettering the legal community through diversity and inclusion efforts.
