Pooja R. Patel
Pooja R. Patel joined LPHS as Of Counsel in 2025, bringing extensive experience in complex investigations, commercial litigation, and regulatory enforcement.
Prior to joining LPHS, Pooja served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, where she investigated and prosecuted cases involving the False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, and Controlled Substances Act. She developed experience managing qui tam investigations and coordinating with other federal agencies—securing millions in recovery for the government and taxpayers. In addition, she also defended the United States in a broad range of civil matters, including constitutional and regulatory challenges, employment discrimination claims, and immigration-related litigation.
Before her government service, Pooja was an associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP in Dallas, where she gained experience with all phases of litigation. Her practice focused on high-stakes commercial litigation, class actions, and regulatory investigations, and she represented major clients across the telecom, healthcare, consumer products, and energy sectors. Pooja also advised clients facing investigations by the Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission, and other regulatory agencies.
Pooja earned her J.D. from Duke University School of Law, where she served as Content Editor of the Duke Law & Technology Review, Executive Notes Editor for the Duke Journal of Comparative & International Law, and Vice President of Programs for the Women’s Law Students Association. She graduated summa cum laude from Southern Methodist University with a B.A. in Political Science and a B.B.A. in Business Management.
Pooja is active in her community, serving on the Southern Methodist University Alumni Board and the Klyde Warren Park Community Engagement Task Force. She is fluent in Gujarati and enjoys traveling with her husband and young daughter, spending time on the lake, and playing with their border collie, Tikka.
