Jennifer Helms
Jennifer Helms joined LPHS in 2023 with a diverse background as a judicial law clerk, a litigation attorney, cofounder of a small business, and a policy research analyst. Prior to joining the firm, Jennifer served more than fifteen years as a career law clerk for a federal judge in the Northern District of Texas.
Jennifer graduated with a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. Prior to becoming an attorney, Jennifer had the unique experience of working as a policy researcher and legislative analyst for George W. Bush’s first gubernatorial campaign and in the Governor’s Office.
After graduating law school, Jennifer served as a term law clerk for the Honorable Jorge A. Solis in the United States District Court in Dallas, Texas. She then joined the Dallas office of Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP, where she focused on complex commercial litigation, including securities fraud, employment law, and patent litigation. Jennifer rejoined Judge Solis’s chambers as a career law clerk, where she spent the next 15 years, until his retirement. In that role, Jennifer worked primarily on complex civil cases.
During her tenure as a law clerk, Jennifer regularly presented at the Northern District of Texas law clerk orientation seminar about best practices and judicial ethics and at the Federal Bar Association about federal court practice, local rules, and professional ethics.
In 2016, Jennifer joined forces with a fellow mother and entrepreneur to launch a successful small business that was inspired by her son with autism. Her company, Cleerlife, educates and helps individuals and businesses make safer everyday product choices that impact human health and the environment.
Jennifer lives in Dallas with her husband John, who is also a lawyer, their teen daughter, and three entertaining rodents. She is also the proud mother of their son who attends Denison University.
