A'Lys Lawrence
A'Lys Lawrence joined LPHS as a Staff Attorney in 2023. Prior to joining the firm, A’Lys worked at Baron & Budd in their Opioid Litigation Group. While working in the litigation group, she honed her research and writing abilities as she worked on dynamic and expansive discovery projects. From this experience and others, A’Lys developed a sincere enthusiasm for legal research and its propensity to spur client success.
A’Lys holds a B.A. in Government and Spanish from the University of Texas at Austin. While completing her B.A., A’Lys studied abroad in Andalucía, Spain where she attended the University of Cádiz and pursued her interests in Spanish history and gastronomy. She went on to attend and earn her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.
While in law school, A’Lys worked as an intern at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. She also worked as a student mediator in the Justice Courts of Harris County and received her 40 Hour Mediation Certification. As a mediator, she learned to assist disputing parties in cases ranging from breach of contract complaints to landlord-tenant disputes. A’Lys also has experience with non-profits and small businesses; she worked in the Transactional Law Clinic at UHLC to help organizations establish themselves as legal entities and understand their legal responsibilities.
In her free time, A’Lys enjoys sports, being on the water, and traveling with friends and family.
