The Texas Lawbook Notes LPHS’s Public Service Commitments
The latest edition of The Texas Lawbook’s “P.S.” feature covering the pro bono activities of Texas law firms featured two articles with an LPHS presence. In the 2026 competition of Law Rocks Dallas, a “battle of the bands” style fundraiser for local charities, the LPHS all-attorney band No Recourse won the Judge’s Choice Award for the second consecutive year. The band raised funds for its designated charity, The Cannenta Foundation, while collectively the event raised a record-setting $94,000.
The column also noted the $30,000 donation to the Equal Access to Justice Campaign made by attorney Jim Mueller and the Mueller Family Law Group in honor of LPHS partner Michael K. Hurst. The campaign supports the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program of the Dallas Bar Association.
“For my entire career, I have been emphatic that legal aid ensures that everyone has access to our courts and our superior system of justice,” said Michael, a former DBA president. “I appreciate Mr. Mueller acknowledging that legal aid is that important pillar of justice, and for making this generous contribution in my honor.”
