Patton, Correa Spin the History and Legal Battles That Shaped Rock ‘n’ Roll

The creative tensions and copyright battles in popular music during the past 75 years are examined by LPHS partners Chris Patton and Andres Correa in a recent bylined article. Published in the ABA’s Litigation magazine, “Rock Around the Court” traces the blurred lines between Black rhythm & blues, gospel music, and a transformation of that sound by white artists that characterized the birth of rock ’n’ roll.
