Michael K. Hurst Comments on Iron Ore Lawsuit in Texas Lawyer
A Nueces County court has denied the efforts of iron and steel industry giant Vale SA to further delay litigation alleging it unlawfully converted, transported to South Texas, and sold more than 100 million tons of low-grade iron ore worth billions of dollars.
“We're just very excited that Vale SA will have to answer to a jury in Texas, and we hope to get to the rest of the discovery that we need and get this case to trial,” said LPHS partner Michael K. Hurst, lead counsel for the plaintiff in the case, Brazilian mining company Itabiriçu.
