The SMU Dedman School of Law has announced that the firm’s Hon. Barbara M. G. Lynn (ret.) will receive the Charles O. Galvin Award for Extraordinary Service as part of the school’s 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award ceremony. The event is scheduled for March 5, 2026 and will be held at the Arts District Mansion in downtown Dallas.

Judge Lynn joined LPHS in September after more than 25 years of service on the federal bench. During her tenure she served as both Chief Judge and Senior Judge for U.S. Courts for the Northern District of Texas, and presided over some of the most controversial and important trials in the region, with written opinions that have shaped national precedent. 

She graduated first in her class from the SMU School of Law in 1976 after earning her undergraduate degree as part of the first fully co-educational class of the University of Virginia.
