Chris Patton on the First Year of the Texas Business Court
The Texas Business Court has just completed its first year, and attorneys across the state are taking stock of how the new venue is shaping complex commercial litigation. In a recent feature by The Texas Lawbook, Lynn Pinker Hurst & Schwegmann partner Chris Patton reflected on his experience in one of the court’s earliest cases to reach a contested final judgment.
“It was kind of fun to see that process [from filing to appeal] in the period of a year,” Mr. Patton said.
Mr. Patton has handled several cases in the court this year and noted that many of his business clients are considering the level of certainty provided by the Texas Business Court when deciding whether to incorporate in the state.
