Childers Profiled in Texas Lawyer as New DBA President

In a recent Texas Lawyer article, LPHS partner Jonathan Childers discusses the evolving makeup of the Dallas Bar Association, noting increased diversity in age, background, and areas of practice. As the incoming DBA president, Jonathan is focused on delivering programs that are relevant and valuable to the organization’s 11,000 members, while strengthening the association’s role within the greater Dallas community.

Central to that work, he emphasizes, is the DBA’s responsibility to promote and protect the rule of law. “Lawyers have a high responsibility through their actions to show that our form of democracy works and that the public can trust courts,” Jonathan says.

He points to initiatives such as the Dallas Bar’s Civics Camp for Dallas ISD middle school students, launching in March, and special programming planned around the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. Together, these efforts aim to encourage dialogue about the role of the modern lawyer, while reflecting on the legal profession’s past, present, and future.
