Cox Earns Listing as Texas Rising Star

Lynn Tillotson & Pinker partner among state’s top young lawyers

DALLAS – John T. “Trey” Cox III, a partner with the Dallas law firm Lynn Tillotson & Pinker, has been selected among a small group of attorneys named as Texas Rising Stars, the inaugural listing of the top young lawyers in Texas.

Mr. Cox is recognized for his work in business litigation.

To be honored as a Rising Star, attorneys must be age 40 or younger, or have practiced law fewer than 10 years. Rising Star selections were based on nominations from fellow attorneys who previously were honored in the prestigious Texas Super Lawyers list. In all, only 2.5 percent of eligible Texas attorneys were selected for this honor.

“It is always rewarding to have your hard work and subsequent successes recognized,” says Mr. Cox. “To be chosen when the best lawyers in Texas are making the selections is truly an honor.”

No stranger to awards, Mr. Cox recently has been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly magazine. He also has been named one of the “Best Lawyers Under 40 in Dallas” by D magazine, and one of the “10 Metroplex litigators worth having on your side” by the Dallas Business Journal.

The Rising Stars list appears in both the July 2004 issue of Texas Monthly magazine and in Texas Rising Stars 2004, a new publication from the publishers of Law & Politics Media Inc.
