David Coale Interviewed by Fox 4 on Ohio Voter Purge
In a 5-4 ruling on Monday, the US Supreme Court upheld Ohio’s voting law that allows the state to purge non-voters from the voting roll if they have been inactive for six years. Justice Stephen Breyer dissented and expressed concern that voters could be purged even if they had specifically decided not to vote during those years.
LPCH’s David Coale acknowledged Justice Breyer’s point in an interview with FOX 4 News. “You can’t penalize someone for not exercising a right,” he said.
