David Coale Speaks to FOX 4 on Hate Groups Speech Banned from Social Media

Following the deadly violence in Charlottesville, leading social media companies are banning some hate groups and their messages from online platforms. Facebook, GoDaddy and Discord are shutting down the postings of identified hate groups, preventing them from spreading their content. Lynn Pinker Cox & Hurst appellate attorney David Coale says those recent moves are not against the law because while hate speech is protected under the First Amendment, the law applies only to government action, not private companies.
