Britta Erin Stanton

Britta Erin Stanton is a trial lawyer who wins in the courtroom. Having tried many cases to verdict in state and federal court, her opposition knows she will go to trial. As a result, Britta's clients have a substantial advantage in settlement negotiations. She is the go-to lawyer for solving problems in business.

Britta is known as a creative and talented trial advocate. She has served as faculty for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, teaching other lawyers how to win in the courtroom. She has also been asked to serve as a guest lecturer for SMU's trial advocacy program at the Dedman School of Law, where she has taught law students how to effectively persuade juries using technology and demonstrative evidence.

Courtroom successes are achieved when an attorney will take the time to listen to her clients to master the facts of each case. Britta's success in the courtroom is a direct result of her willingness to listen. Her clients and their employees trust her, allowing her to learn the "story" of each case. She pieces the story together through the discovery process, uses the story to create a theme to connect with the jury and, eventually, it becomes a winning trial presentation.

Britta graduated magna cum laude from Baylor Law School, where she served on the Baylor Law Review and represented Baylor at trial and appellate advocacy competitions. Prior to law school, while obtaining her college degree from The University of Texas at Austin, Britta spent a year studying language and economics at Sweden's Uppsala Universitet.

Britta is married to James M. Stanton, a trial attorney at Andrews Kurth LLP and former state district judge. They are active members of First United Methodist Church in downtown Dallas and have three children: Alexandra, Luke, and Eric.
