Sara Chelette

Effective. Efficient. And experienced. Sara is a creative problem solver who works closely with her clients to obtain the best possible results. She will sort through voluminous document productions to find the documents that are key to the case and will continue to refine a complicated fact pattern or legal issue until it is straight-forward and easy to understand.

She represents both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of commercial litigation disputes. Sara has represented clients in breach of contract cases arising out of vendor relationships, including relationships in the oil and gas services industry, asset purchase agreements, professional services fee contracts, loans and guaranty agreements, and partnership and limited liability company agreements. She has also represented both plaintiffs and defendants in cases involving allegations of breaches of fiduciary duty, misappropriation of trade secrets, fraud, negligent misrepresentation, and negligence. Sara has served as counsel for shareholders in derivative litigation.

This year, Sara was lead counsel for a premium finance company who was sued for $66 million for allegedly wrongfully cancelling its borrower’s financed insurance policy. At the close of the plaintiffs’ case, the Court granted the defense’s motion for a take nothing defense judgment.

Sara earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Baylor Law School. She has been recognized as a “Texas Rising Star” by Thomson Reuters from 2013-2020, and "Texas Super Lawyer" from 2020-2023. Sara was selected as one of the "Best Lawyers in America" in Commercial Litigation by U.S. News & World Report from 2020-2024.

A Dallas Bar Foundation Fellow and a Barrister for the William “Mac” Taylor Inn of Court, Sara was also in the Dallas Bar Association’s inaugural class of WE LEAD: Women Empowered to Lead in the Legal Profession. Before joining Lynn Pinker Hurst & Schwegmann, she was a partner at a top AmLaw firm.
