Cheves Ligon is a staff attorney at Lynn Pinker Hurst & Schwegmann and is known for his hard work and dedication to serving all clients. He provides legal advice, conducts research, produces motions, and writes discovery responses and requests.
Cheves has years of experience with directly counseling clients from indigent defendants to Fortune 500 executives. Cheves has taken and defended over 150 depositions, including experts and critical witnesses, tried several cases, and argued before four courts of appeal. He has skill in drafting filings in all stages of litigation, such as petitions, discovery motions and responses, and settlement agreements. He has also dealt with the briefing and arguing of numerous discovery and dispositive hearings throughout Texas. Cheves has litigated in over a dozen states and knows about complex litigation matters. Additionally, Cheves has worked closely with pro bono criminal and immigration matters.
Before joining the firm, Cheves was a senior associate at a top law firm where he specialized in litigation. Cheves spent his time managing all aspects of commercial, healthcare, and personal injury litigation in state and federal courts across the country from initial pleadings to final settlements.
Aside from work, Cheves enjoys traveling, reading about history and politics, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
